This gallery is a collection of photos which I truly like but that don’t seem to fit neatly into one of the other classifications. Several are closeup, detail shots. Others involve people doing something different or interesting. I hope you like them too.

I really like this gallery because it’s so diverse. As you page through, you’ll see images of machinery, steam engines, monuments, old weathered doors, architectural interiors and unusual objects. Some might call it a “catch-all” and I suppose it is… but it’s fun!

Special Feature: Pageant of Steam 2018

Each August the New York State Steam Engine Association sponsors a Pageant of Steam. This well attended event, in Hopewell, NY draws antique steam tractors, vintage farm and construction equipment and related machinery dating as far back as the late 19th century. Permanent exhibits include industrial steam-powered equipment such as generators and sawmills.

Several visitors to this site have remarked that they enjoy the photos of machinery, be they cars, trains, airplanes of industrial equipment. In a special feature in the Other Good Stuff gallery you will see photos captured at the 2018 Pageant of Steam. I’ve tried to represent the essence and variety of the event in these dozen images.
